Team Member(s)
The IT Department guarantees a high-performance, secure digital environment tailored to the research and development activities of GIPSA-lab.
Located within the Technical Division and composed of six people, it is structured into two complementary teams:
- The first team, dedicated to Systems and Network Infrastructure and Security, brings together specialists in network management, systems administration, IT security, and local support.
- The second team, focused on web information systems, brings together project management consultants and full-stack developers who manage the laboratory's information systems and web applications.

Main Responsibilities
Systems and network infrastructure, and laboratory security
The laboratory ensures the security of its systems and the protection of its research data. Thanks to appropriate architecture and tools, the Systems and Networks Infrastructure team not only ensures the continuity of its work but also the confidentiality and integrity of information, thus meeting the high cybersecurity requirements in an academic and scientific environment.
The team is responsible for managing:
- Network infrastructure (patch panels, active equipment)
- Infrastructure services (name service, directory service, shared messaging, web, etc.), or business services (computing servers, etc.), and associated servers
- Security (firewall and security policy)
- Shared storage space
On a technical level
More than 1,400 network outlets are distributed throughout the various rooms that make up the laboratory. The computer park has more than 660 user workstations, divided between Windows PCs, Linux PCs, and Apple MacOS X machines, as well as several dozen servers (for infrastructure, computing, and storage, offering capacities of several TB).
Local IT Service
The local IT team at GIPSA-lab plays a key role in managing and supporting user workstations. It handles all the IT needs of researchers and staff, from installing workstations to their daily maintenance.
The Information System
The SI-Web team, composed of three members (two developers and one business analyst), is responsible for internal development projects for business web applications. It also maps and manages the architecture of information systems, particularly databases and applications.
The team takes care of:
- Optimizing internal laboratory processes by designing customized solutions and ensuring an IT infrastructure that is scalable and tailored to specific user needs. Thanks to their expertise, GIPSA-lab's digital tools remain high-performing and aligned with business requirements.
- The development cycle for applications and databases in the Information System.
